In 5 days, the University of Nairobi opens its doors to the delegates, exhibitors, partners and sponsors of the Nairobi Innovation Week. Yesterday, a media briefing and dummy cheque handover ceremony was held in the Council Chamber at the newly opened University Towers. In attendance were representatives from the media, NIW 2017 organizing committee, partners and sponsors.
In his opening remarks, Dr. Omwansa noted that this year’s Innovation Week has attracted more delegates, partners and sponsors compared to preceding events. The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Peter Mbithi commended the committee for organizing such a laudable job over the years. “There is paradigm shift to improve the lives of our people through the knowledge we have,” he said.
He also noted that the university’s efforts to support innovation were not in vain as the government through President Kenyatta had pledged budgetary support towards the Nairobi Innovation Week 2017. “Our mission is to inspire Kenya and have a global impact,” he added.
